Can I get therapy at CrescentCare?
Every service we provide in our Behavioral Health Program is therapeutic! "Individual" or "one-on-one" therapy with an LPC, LCSW, PsyD, or LMFT is what some people are referring to when they ask this question. This type of therapy is considered specialty treatment and individuals must meet medical necessity criteria to qualify. Medical necessity criteria include 1) having a diagnosable mental health condition that impairs functioning in important areas of life 2) being ready to create measurable treatment goals and use an evidence-based treatment with a therapist to improve functioning, and 3) being motivated to make change by working in session and in between sessions on measurable therapy goals with plans to transition out of therapy when functioning is improved.

Do you provide adult ADHD evaluation and/or treatment?
ADHD-like symptoms are common in several mental health conditions like anxiety, depression, and substance use. For treatment to be effective, a provider may need to first address these other challenges prior to being able to focus exclusively on ADHD screening. One part of ADHD treatment is learning cognitive and behavioral skills to compensate for executive functioning challenges; CrescentCare offers an evidence-based Executive Functioning Skills Group. Another part of ADHD treatment may be medication; CrescentCare providers can provide safe medication options to help manage things like impulsivity, inattention, and hyperactivity. To minimize adverse side effects, nonstimulant medications and executive functioning skills training are the preferred treatments for adult ADHD.

I’m currently taking a benzodiazepine medication and/or think that might be a good option for me; does CrescentCare provide prescriptions for "benzos?"
Benzodiazepine medications are considered "controlled substances;" due to safe prescribing practices, CrescentCare providers do not prescribe these medications long-term or continuously.

I need a certain kind of behavioral health letter/evaluations/clearance…can I get that at CrescentCare?
These kinds of specific requests are generally not provided by CrescentCare behavioral health staff either because providing a letter or evaluation is not considered medically necessary treatment or because it is an evaluation requiring a provider who is a specialist in that area. Behavioral health staff provide treatment for diagnosable mental health challenges that are causing impairment in functioning. Examples of the kinds of letter requests that are not considered "treatment" alone or that require evaluation by specialist outside of CrescentCare are letters/evaluations for emotional support animals, concealed carry permits, autism evaluation, bariatric surgery evaluation, social security evaluation, medical marijuana recommendation.
I receive behavioral health services at CrescentCare and I’d like to provide input about those services, is there a way for me to do that?
